Family stories

The weeks didn't get quieter. They got lighter.

We asked parents what family life felt like before domio. They used the same words almost every time:

  • Overwhelming
  • Exhausting
  • Chaos
  • “A hot mess”

Here's what changed.

A mom photographs a sports schedule on the fridge with her phone
“I'd tell my friends: this is your chaos coordinator.

Jess – Mom of 4, husband travels for work

“Four girls, two sports apps, and a husband who's gone Monday to Friday.”

“Honestly? I was a hot mess.”

My husband travels for work, so the planning is all on me. I was using a pen-and-paper calendar and going into each team app, writing every practice down. I didn't always bring my big calendar notebook with me, so sometimes I'd miss a practice or get her there late.

Now I just screenshot the schedules and domio puts them on the calendar. Going through the calendars for the month used to take me a good 30 to 45 minutes.

The moment

“My husband just said, hey, can you add my doctor appointment to that app? You have no idea how huge of a win that is.”

“It just feels like a weight off my shoulders. Like, okay, our schedules are doable.”

A family's busy weekday morning in the kitchen
“That morning check-in has been, seriously, life changing.

Megan – Mom of 3 under 5, works full time

“Three kids under five, a full-time job, and a morning that finally starts with a plan.”

“I'm the default parent. There's always something I need to be remembering, and that's what's so overwhelming.”

My kids are all less than two years apart, I work full time, and my husband plays sports too. Daycare, baseball, swim lessons, family dinners every Sunday. I was doing all of it before, just in six different places.

Now my calendars, our meals and the shopping list live in one place. And every morning domio checks in before the day starts.

The moment

“It's like, ‘This is what we're tackling today. This part of your day is super heavy. What's our plan?’ And I'm like, thank you for thinking this through with me before the day starts.”

“It makes me feel almost empowered. I can actually accomplish all the things that I want to.”

A mom helps her son into rain boots while his sister holds two gifts
“I'm loving using AI to not have to think.

Tara – First-time mom, San Diego

“A full-time job, a toddler, and finally some credit for everything I do.”

“My brain was so clouded with to-dos and things to manage.”

I work full time, teach, run a side business, and have a toddler in daycare. I used to keep it all on paper, my calendar and my email, which is ridiculous saying out loud. And my toddler would lose my list.

Now domio catches things for me. It reminded me the night before about spirit day, and again at 6am. It flagged that an early start clashed with daycare pickup. I totally would have missed both.

The moment

“It helped me achieve a little bit more equity in my parenting relationship with my husband. That was more valuable than any meal planning.”

“It made me not accountable for everything. And it's all listed there, so the work I do finally gets seen.”

A dad takes dinner out of the oven while his daughter snacks beside the groceries
“It makes me feel in charge.

Leah – Mom of 3, plus three dogs and two cats

“I threw out the fridge calendar. And got my Sundays back.”

“If I don't have it sitting right in front of me, it will get forgotten.”

Every Sunday I'd get out my three planners, one for the car, one for the fridge, one for the wall, and write our week down. In pencil, because things change.

Groceries meant Sam's Club, Costco and Walmart, and a paper list I'd leave at home. Now our schedule lives in one place, and the grocery list is split by store so we're not running to seven places in one day.

The moment

“I actually threw away our calendar that goes on the fridge. It's eliminated that 30-minute session of physically writing everything down.”

“domio helps me be in charge somewhere other than just my brain.”
